Chromebooks are an incredible tool for students with disabilities. Whether it's utilizing reader apps to negotiate volumes of text for dyslexic readers or working the talk to text feature for much needed assistance with essays when the letters just keep spilling across the page. Chromebooks, certainly, are an essential component to the special education classroom, to help ensure that each and every student has the capacity to live their dream to it's fullest potential. The past year, I really noticed the difference that it makes when my students have reliable access to technology that caters to their specific disability. Unfortunately, we are often borrowing Chromebooks from other classroom sets throughout the day, and do not have opportunity to set them up with specific settings and apps that are detailed for my kids. The inconsistency is time consuming, and it impinges on student's time and attention and progress. Our own classroom set would be a dream come true.
