This school year, I am starting a new adventure of teaching middle and high school students with developmental cognitive disabilities and autism. This conference will provide me resources, ideas, and strategies to teach students in grades 6-12. I will learn different ways to engage students in their learning. Important topics I am looking forward to learning more about are relationship building, STEM integration into learning, self-care, and using the classroom culture to create more engaging lessons for students. I want to continue to be inspired to bring more ideas to the classroom to engage students in the community and create learning opportunities outside the classroom walls.
