I am requesting iPads, cases, and warranties. In the population that I serve, it is difficult for parents to purchase technology for their children. Many students depend on technology from school and the public library to complete assignments because they don’t have devices at home. With this current pandemic that has attacked the education system globally, the importance of providing technology to all students is clearly shown; most importantly, all students should have an equal opportunity to learn and shouldn’t be deprived. Our class would love for each student to have access to an iPad in the room or for check-out. Students will be able to participate in Microsoft Teams to connect with their teachers and classmates where they will continue learning, sharing their work, and participating in academic discourse. Additionally, they’ll be able to access programs we use every day in our classroom such as Mastery Connect, Dream box, I-Ready, Eureka Math and Discovery Education. My students will be forever grateful to be able to have iPads available whenever they need them.
