Our reading center is one area in the classroom where the students love to congregate and share stories. Each morning when students arrive at school they have time to sit and look at books or have myself or another teacher read to them. Throughout the day they are also able to go to the reading area anytime even if its just to sit and take sometime to themselves. We have been fortunate enough to have great books that are full with imagination and diversity that represent every child in the classroom. By expanding our reading center we will be able to accommodate more students while they read and also display all of the wonderful books we have for them to explore. From enhancing our literacy center students will be able to develop their literacy skills by engaging in reading/ listening to stories and also their social emotional skills by sharing the center with their friends.
