We will be using these materials to help assess, monitor, and restore a fish pond (loko i'a) that is hundreds of years old in the Keaukaha community. These supplies will give the students the hands-on learning they need to explore water quality, sampling techniques, and species in the different ponds. In addition to water monitoring, they will be analyzing the soil to see the health of the land and to assess what it needs to create a productive hula garden. We hope to use our data and findings to help steward the land as well as raise awareness in our school & local community.

About my class
