The main ingredient, the ukuleles, allow 4th and 5th graders to develop correct form on a string instrument while providing students a stepping stone for their musical knowledge for years to come. In the meantime, "Little Guitars for Little Stars" will connect to the entire 500+ elementary school body by means of either playing or sharing. This sense of community through music, is a great goal of my classroom's grant-funded projects; a goal that will continue to be realized through activities such as school concerts (Gracewood student audience included) or sing-a-long activities between lower and upper elementary throughout the year.
