I am requesting Chromebooks for my students. There are many online programs to supplement in-class instruction. Most of my students are several grade levels behind in reading. For instance, Quizlet, Quill and Membean are excellent for struggling readers. With a 1:1 or 1:2 technology ratio my students could access these programs. Struggling readers light up when they get to use technology and enjoy it so much more than work sheets or an entire class of teacher led instruction. Technology makes a huge difference to my ELL, SPED and Dyslexic students. It's also a great way to reinforce skills!
