About my class

Providing choices to students allows them the opportunity to take control of their learning and make decisions that work best for them. Choices in their daily work and assessments are one way to provide this, however flexible seating is critical, especially for eager, energetic students who need movement. Currently during independent work, my students choose a location in the classroom that works for them: at different tables or desks, working in the hallway, lying under tables, or sitting on the floor. Making sure students are given the best possible environment is essential in motivation, especially with some needing a quiet place to learn and others needing the company of others. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work. The products I have selected will help them by providing additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The Neorok stools will allow students to sit at tables and counters around my classroom while still allowing movement. These will be extremely beneficial for students who need occasional movement as they work and will help them to stay focused. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and know these flexible seating options will help us!
