These books will let students explore the language as well as the Spanish world. Reading is also a great way to expand their knowledge on their own without direct instruction from the teacher. Reading in any language is essential to learning that language. Many of my students already love to read and this will expand their choices, opening their world to a new variety of authors from a range of countries. Reading in another language can also change ones opinion or outlook of that particular language and / or the countries where that language is spoken.
