Many teachers across the country are grappling with remote learning and what that looks like at this time. I work at a title one school in Austin, Texas, where many of my students do not have the supplies they need to engage in virtual learning. Several of the kiddos in my class do not have tablets or access to technology, which creates an equity gap among the students in my class. As a PreK team, we are hosting daily Zoom meetings with our kiddos in order to check in with our kids, do some read-a-louds, and some short lessons with them. It is wonderful to see our students even through a screen. I also plan to use other applications, such as SeeSaw, where students can view virtual assignments and submit pictures of their work. I would love for all my student to gain access to technology and be able to continue the rest of the year learning with us through virtual education. Thank you for your consideration!
