The use of graphic novels teaches students moral issues. Students become the superhero and achieve the goals that they set. They are able to help other students establish and achieve their goals. With their superpowers, students can become scientists, mathematicians, astronauts, engineers, authors, doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. The fear of reading is taken away because the pictures explain the words. Students become leaders (ie. student government) and therefore they are able to practice what they have learned through reading. Teachers can interact more successfully with students because the graphic pictures, "words," enables students to relate to the material and be able to answer questions related to the text.
