This project will enhance my Modern Genocide unit. This is the culminating unit of my semester-long Holocaust and Genocide Studies elective course for juniors and seniors. Students will self-select a memoir of their own choosing and create a multi-modal presentation that incorporates a timeline of the genocide, study of how the news presented it, and connections to the Declaration of Human Rights, the Pyramid of Hate, and the Stages of Genocide. These final projects will be shared with the whole class in the final days of the term. By allowing students to self-select and partner, they will be able to engage in material that personally interests them!
