With the diverse abilities of students, it is imperative that reading resources are available to use effectively to provide instruction for students. If more novels are made available to students they will develop the habit of reading. Our classroom does not have sufficient chapter books/novels to each student to use or that can be used to teach lessons based on certain themes of a particular book, so currently, students have to do best with what is available. Providing differentiated instruction using the intervention reading books would help struggling readers to develop their reading skills and ultimately improve their reading comprehension skills. The aim is to use these reading resources to close the achievement gap among the students in my class so that all my scholars can perform at or above grade level.
