To foster my students' love of learning, they need materials to read. I want to create a library stocked with interesting, relevant reading materials in my classroom. Having books in the Compass building would eliminate barriers for students to access their education. Our students show us how passionate they are everyday, and I would love to fuel that enthusiasm with literature that they engage in. With our program on hands-on learning, it can be a struggle to find literature that each student views as relevant. My students have fantastic, thoughtful, in-class discussions about current events. In small groups, they have had colorful impressive literary analyses of short stories. I want to foster their collaborative spirit with longer-form reading.
