These flexible seating options will allow students to choose the best learning environment based on his/her learning style. During independent work times, they will be able to choose a location in the classroom that works best for them. Implementing flexible seating will improve student engagement and will positively affect their ability to learn. Behavior problems decrease and engagement increases when I use flexible seating in the classroom. Some students need to be standing/moving as they learn while others would benefit from sitting in a structured seat. Flexible seating opens up the classroom allowing me more space to walk around safely and gives the students more workspace.
