In kindergarten, we have a large variety of learners. Several of my students have never been to school before. It would be beneficial to have manipulatives proven to increase the knowledge of young learners. The Handwriting Without Tears letter building kit can help increase letter recognition and build on prior knowledge for all students. Handwriting can be challenging, but we will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long writers. We practice basic handwriting skills and I am constantly having to draw the lines on the whiteboard or smartboard to show my class the proper ways to form letters. I would be able to show them the exact paper and examples they would be working on if I had a document camera. It would decrease the time I spend on drawing out the lines and the downtime my students have to wait while I draw out the layout of the worksheets. There would be more clarity and understanding of the expectations in the assignments if they were easily displayed. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my teaching and classroom environment. I want to give my students the best opportunity to succeed and adding these resources will help greatly. You are impacting twenty-one hearts and making their learning experience so much better!
