The students that I have in my special education classroom have a wide variety of needs and stimulants. By taking the time to plan and create a calming and flexible environment in my classroom, many of my students' sensory stimulants will be met. This will result in increasing my students' overall focus and productivity.  All of these sensory stimulant tools will help with creating a calm and productive classroom environment and will help in enhancing the students' brain development, all while helping them relax, remain calm, and feel empowered and productive.  Sensory tools (such as flexible seating, sensory toys, low light lamps, fluorescent light covers, weighted blankets, noise-canceling headphones, etc)  can benefit students with sensory deficits, students that struggle to stay focused for a long period of time, students that simply need something to help them relax in high stressed situations, and so much more. Having the availability of flexible seating can help the students also have a feeling of empowerment, by having some degree of choice and control over their daily environment and productivity, all while enhancing their sensory inputs without them even realizing it.
