Pre-K students learn by engaging in hands-on activities. In the classroom, we use many materials to provide a learning experience that places a greater emphasis on critical thinking, and less emphasis on worksheets. Therefore, these materials will help students continue this experience at home by enhancing writing skills, mathematical problem solving, and artistic expression. The magnetic counting chips will provide students with an opportunity to engage in lessons that involve counting, adding, and creating patterns. The dry erase boards will be used to practice letter and sound recognition, handwriting, and number practice. The construction paper will be utilized as a way for students to engage in art work and as an extension to lessons being taught.
