In our band room we use stands that are very old and are falling apart. Some of them can barely support the method books we use for warm-ups and fundamentals. In many aspects of their education things are secondhand equipment or items that show their age. In the media they see shiny possessions, and big schools with nice possessions. I want to show them that having money isn't the answer to everything. An education is. These new stands would give my students something to find pride in and see as a consistent part of their education; this upgrade would show them they deserve nice things and no one has forgotten about them.
