Incorporating an iPad into my speech-language therapy sessions will provide opportunities for my students to communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings when they otherwise wouldn't be able to. There are countless communication applications that can be downloaded onto the iPad to facilitate expressive communication. For example, I can download the application Proloquo2Go which will provide my students with a symbol based voice generating application. With applications like this on an iPad my students can learn to make requests, answer questions, and increase their social interaction with peers and staff. Having consistent access to an iPad will help build my students' communication skills.
