Our school does not provide a library for our students. I have built my own classroom library, but I have limited space in my classroom and I feel access to books through technology would greatly increase the reading levels and reading enjoyment of my class. Using tablets in our small group centers would provide my Title I students access to a variety of books and reading materials they wouldn't normally have available to them. The tablets will be used to listen and follow read-aloud stories to increase fluency, they will be able to access online storybooks to create interest and complete comprehension activities. Utilizing technology, these tablets will create immediate engagement for my students, while providing learning materials at their independent levels. Having tablets in our classroom for reading time will increase my students' exposure to a variety of books and enhance their love of reading!
