Currently my brand new all day life skills program for high school special education students is in a classroom that used to be a storage room where there is only electricity and lights in half of the room. Additionally, the classroom furniture for the class was what was left over in the school and it does not meet the diverse needs of my students. Furthermore, there is 1 small white board placed in the corner that is not magnetic or easily accessible. The variety of lessons and skill levels of my students is vast, therefore having the ability to make learning centers for small group learning or one on one learning is key to reaching their needs but academically and functionally. The whiteboards and flexible seating will give me the ability to move lessons around the room as my students' needs change while also giving them choices on what seat helps them learn the best.
