Students will have a chance to check out books, connect with characters that speak directly to them, discuss and present books in large and small groups, and hopefully become a lifelong reader! Besides reading the books, students will have a chance to join book clubs based on genre, create a March Madness Book Bracket showdown in which students can vote for his/her favorite book of the year, and use their text in class along with my mentor text. Studies show students who fall behind rarely have the chance to catch up to their classmates, especially after third grade. This is a really critical time in a student's life for reading growth.

About my class
