A growing amount of scientific evidence suggests that therapy dog programs help improve the quality of life for children coping with a full range of emotional problems. Therapy dogs also provide particular benefits for autistic children and children with special needs. Ren will be one of the most memorable experiences of our students’ elementary career! She will greet children as they enter the school in the morning and see them off in the afternoon. "Reading with Ren" will assist with literacy development. Just meeting Ren will help our students learn how to safely interact with dogs. By helping me care for her, they will learn responsibility and compassion for other living things. Ren will give our students a sense of pride and accomplishment. She will improve morale and enrich our school in many "paws-itive" ways!
