Many of my students have not experienced the creative building or imaginative ideas becoming a reality. I’d love for them to be able to dream up a project, plan it out and then see it into fruition. There is such a link between STEAM and higher scores on testing. As much as I desire then to do well on those mandatory tests, my greatest desire is to watch their excitement as they observe their ideas come to life or learn that their plan needed adjusted. Having to go back to the planning board is a huge part of pushing through those hard subjects in school and sticking with a career choice. What better gift can we give these kiddos than to start early.
