I teach Kindergarten, which is five and six year olds. It is very hard for children that age to sit still! I want my students to be able to learn while still being comfortable. Flex seating allows them to make their own choices, be comfortable, and feel a sense of community. The different seating options enable students to be able to rock, bounce, wobble, lean or fidget, which in turn increases oxygen flow to the brain. This helps with focusing and self control in little ones. It promotes so much communication and collaboration within the classroom because students must take turns with the different seating options. I truly feel it will change their commitment to learning and improve their behavior within the classroom.
