My first grade students are currently learning how to read. My classroom has lots of nonfiction books but we are lacking some of the most popular picture books and chapter books! My students spend about thirty minutes reading independently every day. I would love to add new, exciting picture books and chapter books to my classroom library that will challenge and motivate my first grade students to become excellent readers before they go to second grade. The books that I have selected for this project will help boost my students' imagination. Students will be able to travel places and go on adventures, just by reading books! I want to make sure that I help my students build a love of reading and have books that they enjoy available for them to read in my classroom library. Dog Man, Pigeon, and Elephant and Piggie are some of the most popular books that my students are interested in. Adding these books to my classroom library will bring so much joy to my first grade classroom!
