My 4th grade class needs books that represent multicultural viewpoints and real characters like themselves. I am always trying to update my classroom library with new and current titles. We are especially in need of historical fiction this year representing immigration and civil rights eras. Many of the books that I chose for this project are more current than the books that are in our classroom library. Also, I tried to choose authors and books that were award winning, diverse and by critically acclaimed authors. By having these books in the library students will have more choice and access to quality and high interest books.
