Teaching and learning during a pandemic is a unique challenge for everyone involved. Transitioning from distance learning to hybrid learning has been and will continue to be challenging. One thing that binds us now is the requirement of a face mask... so why not make it an opportunity to connect to something STEAM! This project will allow students to design, paint and create their own custom STEAM-inspired face mask for our new adventures in hybrid learning! I am excited for this "welcome-back-to-school-campus" project that will excite and inspire students. This project will provide acrylic paint pens and cotton face masks for students to design and create their own STEAM-inspired face masks. I hope that this Personalized Learning Project - where students can research an artist and then draw & paint their inspired images on their own face mask - which will allow students to display their passions and interests. I hope this project will combine students interests in science and art and ALSO spark inquisitive conversation, creativity and collaboration within the classroom as we learn together!
