Many of my students are sensory seekers who struggle organizing and responding to information that comes through the senses. They have difficulty being able to self-regulate their behaviors, emotions, and responses to over-stimulation within the school environment. This difficulty affects their ability to process verbal and non-verbal information and interferes with learning. Intentional fidgets and tactile input provides my students with an appropriate way to self soothe an overloaded system and helps to re-engage focus. These supplies will give my students access to calming tools within my classroom to meet their individual sensory needs and will allow them to independently calm themselves in a busy school setting.
