This project includes multiple copies of books that will be used in book clubs. Book titles such as The Watsons Go to Birmingham and Number the Stars will expose children to high interest and historically significant texts. I've also selected texts that will bring joy to reluctant readers. Readers will enjoy giggling while reading There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom or Fish in a Tree. After their daily reading, students will spend time in small groups sharing their opinions and connections, questioning their thinking, and challenging their beliefs. Kids absolutely love talking about their reading in book clubs. They develop a strong bond with their group and develop a love of reading. I have multiple students that are interested in forming new book clubs, and new books will make it possible. Thank you for supporting reading and book clubs in our classroom community. “There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.” – Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
