These books will help my students to engage with content that is relevant and appropriate to their needs. The books I have selected here target various reading levels and interests. Many of my students who play sports struggle to find books that they find interesting. These students frequently come to me asking for books about sports, to which I sadly reply that I have none. Many of the books here were hand picked for these students as I attempt to get them reading more. Another problem that I have noticed is that my classroom library lacks books which represent minorities. Because of this I have selected books like, "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" and "Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter," which have diverse characters and authors. My goal is for students to see more books in which they are represented and therefore engage more with what they read.
