I teach a STEM exploration class that fosters innovation and creativity through student-led projects. The book The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is a very inspirational story about a young boy who solved an important problem in his community through his determination. William Kamkwamba tells a story that middle school students will connect with. I would love my students to have the opportunity to learn about this story so that they can be inspired to design and tackle their own engineering problems. I know that students will recognize that you can be successful in any situation by developing their science skills and resourcefulness.
