As research has shown, students should be reading 90 minutes a day, everyday, to keep increasing their skill and knowledge of reading. Holding still for 90 minutes is almost impossible for a 4th grader, unless they have access to a book that keeps them engaged. Hopefully adding a larger variety of books to my classroom library will better provide for my students, especially for students who may not have access to books at home. Fourth graders love a good book and they feel successful each time they complete one. Help my students explore their world by providing more reading opportunities.
