Graphic novels are a great format to introduce to reluctant readers. They have become some of the most requested materials in the library but are currently the smallest portion of our library collection. I would like to add a mix of graphic novels that range from classic literature to re-introduce the stories in a stimulating format as well as current popular fiction. I believe that if the students see the story they will learn to love to read the story too! I hope to use this source of materials as a lesson in collection development for my high school class.
