This project will help my students achieve higher academic achievement in vocabulary, spelling, and even mathematics. Students who read independently become better readers, score higher on achievement tests in all subject areas, and have greater content knowledge than those who do not. Organizing our books will give students an easier way to search for their reading level and subject of books they enjoy. Multiple studies have supported that even a small amount of independent reading increases primary and elementary students’ reading comprehension, vocabulary growth, spelling facility, understanding of grammar, and knowledge of the world.

About my class
