Although this is not a project to be used in my classroom, it will benefit many of the students from my special education classroom. Recently the IHSAA created unified sports that allow students with special needs the chance to participate in a school sport. There is so much that can be learned from participating in a unified track and field for the students with and without special needs. These specific items will be used during practice to help the 45 students on our team have a successful season and many to come. Our team consists of students with and without special needs, and the relationships that form in unified sports are unlike anything that can be taught in a classroom. As our team grows, we need more materials to help keep all of the students active and successful in practice. The items I am requesting will help our students be able to hold practices like their peers in the traditional track.
