With the rise in technology, students are losing some of the basic social skills that are so important for their development. I find it very important for students to use their imagination during morning play time. We start our morning with free play. We have toys, puzzles, blocks, dolls, etc and my students love starting their day this way. I would love to add in more dramatic play choices by having a "play kitchen". This will allow students to use their imagination and connect with each other each and every day. I am also asking for a large area rug for our classroom to make their learning time as comfortable as possible. After our free play time, we start our learning time together on our classroom rug. Unfortunately, after years of use, we are in need of a new one. We spend so much of our day in this spot for calendar time, reading stories, Math, Literacy centers, and so much more. Please help support my amazing students this year, and many more students in years to come.
