These books will add depth to the characters available in my library. Students search out books that they identify with. Students living with gang violence look for similar characters and how they live with it. I yearn to provide as many diverse characters as possible. Books that are written on a variety of levels provide more opportunity for my students to read and feel success while identifying with a character. Help provide a struggling reader a chance to feel success and find a character they connect with in my library. These book additions will help bridge students interest and ability.
