The dissection specimens and dissecting tools will bring a hands-on learning experience to my high school animals science classes that students me not otherwise have. Students learn about body organ systems via books, worksheets, and online technology but are not able to see and touch these organ systems in real time. Many animal related careers deal with the passing of animals. Animals like humans undergo autopsy which is referred to as necropsy in the animal field. If high school students learn the art of necropsy they will be able to identify organs and organ systems as well as abnormalities within the body. These skills can and will make these students more employable in a very competitive job market. Most students do not learn the art of necropsy until sometime in college. I want my students to have an edge over other potential employees when they enter the job market.
