Young learners often need movement and the ability to wiggle in order to stay on task at school. When sitting for long periods of time in regular classroom chairs, many students begin to feel sleepy or cramped. I want my students to have options for where they sit and how they learn in my classroom. These wiggle seats and stools will allow for more individual choice in their seating options during the school day. I intend to maximize the time on task and length of attention span by providing options for my learners that require more movement. The wiggle seats feel like a yoga ball, while not taking up the space of a yoga ball. They can be used in any of our regular classroom chairs and returned to a storage area when they are no longer needed. The stools will sit at our guided reading and math table so the students use them during their designated group time, making it a more exciting time during their day.
