My students are eager and excited to be back in school full time this school year! Many have not been in school since March 2020. A kidney table will help our classroom foster a love of reading and help my colleagues and I teach small guided reading groups. I teach in an inclusion setting where many of my students have special needs and are English Language Learners who need specialized literacy instruction, especially after the pandemic. A kidney table has always been a piece of furniture that has been on my dream list for my classroom. Why? Instructing small, differentiated groups is essential but having a kidney table makes it easier for everyone to participate in the lesson, see their teacher, and foster a love of reading/learning. I currently do not have a space like this in my classroom. It is my hope to obtain a kidney table to help my special education teacher colleagues and myself have a space to parallel teach (where one teacher can use this space while another teacher can use another space in the classroom). Please consider donating to our amazing school and to help all of our students succeed!
