My class needs a table for small-group work. I want to be able to provide more effective differentiated instruction to all of my students, especially my struggling and special-education students. Currently, when working in small-groups, whether during writing or math, my students hold their notebooks and books in their laps as we sit in a circle. This arrangement makes any note-taking uncomfortable and unnecessarily burdensome, especially for those who are still struggling with penmanship and writing skills. A table to work on will be very helpful. Students will be seated comfortably, with their materials and bodies supported by the furniture, so they can fully focus on their academic tasks and be more productive during small-group lessons.
