The students in my class have a heart for helping their classmates with special needs. They decided to partner with the teachers and determined a need for an interactive communication board to help our non-verbal students communicate their needs. Communication boards can be carried around on an iPad, but our students decided a large shared board would benefit all students when iPads are not available. These students will be able to learn about coding, collaboration, and design while they work with the teachers to determine the best icons and sounds for each area of the board. The students using this board will be impacted because they will have consistent access to a communication tool.
