The students in my class create and run a company. Just like real life, the students have departments (human resources, marketing, finance) and roles (president, vice president) within their company. The students need to meet as departments and complete work. Having laptops in the room will help them to collaborate and share information to make the company successful and run more smoothly. The traditional classroom setting is great for doing individual work, but we need to move beyond that and work together. There are computers in the classroom, but they are desktops and not conducive to group work or moving around to different locations which is a necessity. Could you do your job and not be able to move a computer to work?
