The classroom environment directly impacts student learning and achievement. Flexible seating allows students to lean, rock, or stand, supporting physical health and alertness. This type of environment is essential in an early childhood classroom. By adding flexible seating to my classroom, I will help students become aware of the environment in which they learn best. The wobble stools are the perfect height for students to work comfortably but will still allow movement. The balance balls are beneficial for students who just need to wiggle while they work. I have observed the positive impact flexible seating can have in a classroom. I hope the additional options make my students feel more as though it is "our" classroom.
