Our goal is to have an innovative, inviting, comfortable classroom that focuses on student choice and productivity with flexible seating. Based on successful work environments like Google and Netflix, flexible seating allows those in the environment the comfort and choice on where to work and what to work on. Having this choice will allow students to engage in ownership in their education, a tremendous characteristic of innovative learning. Currently, our classroom has ceramic chairs from the 1980s and tables from the 1990s. By working with our school district and other organizations, our goal is to have the first completely flexible seating middle school classroom in our school.
