These materials will make such a large difference in the children's life. Our school has never had a 3D printer in the passed and that has hindered the students learning capabilities. With this 3D printer, the students will be able to learn so much more than what they have ever learned in the past. This will give them the much needed opportunity to learn how to use design and auto-cad technologies that will influence their life and their possible carrier. In this project, we were given a kit by our district to build and fully code a robot that will autonomously pick up a basket ball using motors and ultrasonic sensors and then find a hoop in the designated room and reach up four feet in the air to drop the five an a quarter inch basket ball into a hoop. I have students working on coding using raspberry pis, arduinos as well as pythons, while other students are working on the drive train and the armature using servos and minimal amounts of aluminum. Next is where you as our donors come in our robot needs 3D printed pieces, in the past we have sent our designs away to a local business to print them for us. With the entrance of a fully customized 3D printer we will be able to print parts without much delay and be able to first hand see the printer in action.
