Flexible seating allows students to take control of their learning and use the tools around them to make their learning accessible. Many of my friends have ADHD, ADD, and EBD, among a variety of other exceptionalities, and having flexible seating allows them to get their wiggles out in a less distracting manner. My students are so much more engaged and active in their learning when given the tools to meet the needs of their exceptionality. The wobble stools and cushions allow students to rock in place, giving them the movement they require. Additionally, the yoga ball chairs allow students to bounce, giving them another outlet of release. Both of these options allow students to move in a way that is conducive to their learning.
