Accordions are great instruments especially for younger students. They help them develop both treble clef keyboard and bass clef note reading skills, so necessary in the 21st Century. Accordions also help with fine motor skill development. They're lightweight, so they're easy for the little ones to handle. The instrument is very flexible and can be used with a variety of musical styles. Music reading skills are also a part of what they learn, which helps with learning math and reading. And they're fun and culturally relevant. The accordion is an Instrument of Cross-Cultural Importance. Slavic in origin, the accordion has found its way into the hearts of people across the North American continent. The addition of these instruments to our younger students' classes will be a big upgrade for the kids.
